PvP progress with the sacrifice of PvE(in PvP)?
I want to start out by saying that I'm not perfect. I've read over the update page a few times but it is possible that I've missed something that adresses the issue I'm concerned with. Now that that's aside.
I understand that Anet is working on progressing both PvP and PvE but is this update separating them too much? What I mean by this is how the PvP pack will affect people who use PvE chars in PvP. As a reasonably casual player, I'd much rather prefer to pay the $40 to buy all the skills and such needed to stay competitive. What I fear, however, is that all my current PvE chars capable of PvPing will become obsolete. I think this will happen to many people in two ways.
Firstly, the are only two ways of acquiring skills in-game. By unlocking them for the whole account with the use of balthazars faction, or unlocking them through PvE via skill trainers, quests, ect. What I don't want to see is someone who has a few PvE chars geared for PvP, only to find that the meta shifts to the usage of many Nightfall skills that he has no access to. Without the Nightfall campaign, Prophecies/Factions PvE characters will have no way of acquiring Nightfall skills. Since they are PvE characters, balthazar's faction is also useless for skills because faction unlocks for the whole account and not individual characters.
Although the first problem may not seem like that big of a deal due to skill replications and just playing without a few skills but that's ignoring elites. The only ways of getting elite skills are capping them in PvE or using balths faction. Both of which are completely useless for Proph/Factions PvE characters for the reasons I described above.
Basically what I want to know is if there will be a system that allows people who own Prophecies and/or Factions who buy the Nightfall PvP Pack that allows their existing characters access to the skills they paid for. If there isn't anything that makes this possible, then paying for a PvP is worthless unless you don't have any PvPable PvE characters. Of course, there's also the possibility that I'm an idiot and completely skipped over something that adresses this. I don't mean this topic as an insult to anyone at Anet or anything, I would just like to know if people like me would be able to buy the PvP Pack without crippling their existing characters.
Edit: I can't spell =/

This, in a way, addresses my only minor nagging point in this update: My PvP ready elementalist that I have spent hours and hours getting ready and thousands upon thousands of gold getting ready is now obsolete in every way, shape, form, and sense of the word. Now I can create a PvP char, and make as many templates for builds, change my armor as much as I want, and make as many custom weapons as I want. It is a great thing to those who do not have PvP ready chars because it allows them to have everything item possibly wanted on their PvP char. However, this is the end of PvE PvP ready chars in my opinion.
Good Night, and Good Luck...

While I understand your concern, I don't think there's any advantages for players to adapt/equip/build up their characters in pve for pvp. With this update, they are already obsolete, unfortunately. I guess you will have to rely on pvp characters to do as you want to, since now you can save templates for them and change their equipment before going into a match.

what I don't get is, if you have a few PVP ready PVE chars why the hell you have to buy the pvp version of nightfall? you save what? 10 bucks? yes it unlocks all the skills in nightfall, but if your pve chars are all already pvp ready in two campaigns, how many more skills in nightfall you need to buy?
I can use the template feature on my pve characters too. They're all pvp ready.

I tried to find a way to respond to this without sounding selfish but it doesn't work. So anyways.
The reason I want to buy the PvP version of nightfall is because I've honestly grown tired of PvE. I already have all the PvE characters I ever see myself having. Since I also use my PvE chars for PvP like others(don't wanna say many since I don't know). I don't look at the PvP pack as $10 cheaper but rather as the number of hours I wouldn't have to spend on GW going through all of PvE for skills. It would allow me to come on whenever scheduled PvPing is and stay on long enough to do that. The only selfish part of this is, I could do the same thing if I used only PvP characters for PvP, but after all the time devoted to making my characters PvPable I wouldn't want to be forced to stop using them. Something like allowing Balthazar's faction to unlock skills on a character level would solve this, but due to the fact that there is a skill hunter title and the recent changes to it, this would cause problems. I don't really have any suggestions to get around this, sadly.
